Here in Indiana, the challenge is that deer can typically walk in a ½ mile radius and find any food source from corn & soybeans to pasture & hay fields. Corn and soybeans are attractive as seedlings, but as they grow they become unpalatable to wildlife. Before and after this time, the deer, turkeys, quail, etc. need a HIGH PROTEIN food source to feed on. Whether the wildlife is growing antlers, producing milk for their young, or browsing for bugs to raise their poults and chicks, WHAT-A-RACK food plot can provide that source of food and protein. I know, there has to be good genetics in a deer herd to start with, in order for a deer to grow big antlers, but those genetics will never get to their full potential if the food source is poor when the antlers are developing. Same goes for a lactating doe. If she doesn’t have a good food source to choose from, milk production suffers. In this time when “GO GREEN” is the “in” thing, you have the opportunity to do your part and “GROW GREEN”! It’s two-fold. You’re doing your part for the environment and the wildlife. Like I mentioned earlier, we have been in the forage seed business for 20 years. That’s 2 decades of supplying the BEST seed to the forage producer and helping the environment. And everybody thought Al Gore started all this. He’s just catching up!

Every day is a good day……
